Natural Ways to Prevent Chafing

Skin irritation is a common problem for athletes and people who have fuller figures. Your clothes or even just your skin rubbing against the skin can cause this painful and annoying problem. The groin, armpits, thighs and nipples are more likely to be chafed than most other parts. If left untreated, chafing can become open wounds. Because men and women wear different clothes, they seem to have different spots of chafing. However, there are a couple of natural remedies to cure/prevent chafing. The following are some of the natural remedies and of course, a plug for our Apele panties intentionally made to avoid chafing and riding up!

Apply baking soda

Baking soda is a home remedy that, besides being very economical, can be found easily in home and be your ally when removing the scratches.

For this you will need:

  • PH neutral soap.
  • Peroxide.
  • Sodium bicarbonate.

Once you have all the ingredients, the first thing you will do is clean the wounds with pH soap, so they do not become infected. Then, apply hydrogen peroxide and baking soda on the rubbing. This will allow the chafed area to dry much earlier, and heal sooner. The most important thing is that the skin does not get further infected, so this trick is essential.

Aloe Vera

Simply applying natural Aloe Vera on the wound will heal due to its high power of deep hydration. If you have Aloe Vera at home, rub the gel of this plant directly on the chafing. If you do not have it, you can buy prepared Aloe Vera gel, but make sure it is Aloe Vera 100% original, otherwise, it will have no effect.

Chamomile

Chamomile is a good disinfectant and is great for soothing scrapes and wounds. To do this, you will have to prepare an infusion of chamomile and apply it in liquid on the chafing to cure it. You can introduce it in the bathtub and place over the areas affected.

Thyme

Thyme is an antiseptic, which is why it is great for the elimination of chafing. You can heal the scratches by washing them with an infusion of thyme, several times a day.

How to avoid chafing when running

Choose the right clothes

The short compression is a great option to avoid chafing. You can wear them under your normal shorts, and the seams will not bother you as much when you rub against your thighs. A longer pair of shorts can do well. The choice of fabric is crucial too. Cotton is a bad idea because they get wet (and stay wet) when moisture hits (think sweat, discharge and other mishaps). Synthetic fabrics are better options because they have components that stop moisture. Our undies wick moisture away from you with our ultra thin technology so you barely feel it is there. It holds up to 1 tampon’s worth of fluids or 5 millimeters over the same amount of time you would wear a tampon. Our power layer mesh does not pull bacteria because it dries quickly. Your body heat evaporates what goes into the core (except blood). Apply lubricants, gels and balms

If you want to know how to avoid chafing while running, Vaseline on your thighs can do wonders. Protect your thighs by keeping the friction low while running. Chafing can become a thing of the past, as there are many other gels and creams on the market that may be a bit easier to treat than petroleum jelly.

Use powder

Gels and lubricants can be replaced with powders if they are not your ideal first pick. Powders for babies work very well. There are many powders that can be great to protect your body from chafing.

Cover with Bandelettes

The soft synthetic microfiber bands that surround your legs are specially designed to prevent chafing. They wіll nоt slide dоwn оr cover too much ѕkіn. Thеу соvеr whаt they nееd, and thеу are ѕuреr соmfоrtаblе. They are perfect for a wаrmеr climate bесаuѕе they аrе breathable.

Keep dry

It is recommended to keep dry in areas that have previous problems of chafing. If you wonder how to avoid chafing while running, this can help. Powders of aluminum without talc and applied in the most unfavorable areas can help keep them dry, which in turn prevents chafing. Also, it is highly recommended to сhаngе уоur wеt сlоthеѕ іmmеdіаtеlу аftеr running.
